Riyadh: In October, Saudi Arabia marks World Sight Day and White Cane Safety Day, which focus on raising awareness about eye health and promoting the rights and care of people with visual impairments. These observances highlight the causes of blindness, emphasize the importance of preventing and treating eye problems, and encourage regular eye check-ups for early detection and timely treatment, especially as individuals age.

According to Saudi Press Agency, CEO of the Ebsar Foundation Amal Al-Hunaiti said the association is organizing a series of events throughout October to educate the community about the importance of vision health. Among its initiatives, the association has launched a special program for mothers of the visually impaired, emphasizing their crucial role in empowering and supporting their children's development.

She added that the association has arranged recreational outings for young blind individuals to foster social integration and joy while also educating the public on how to interact with blind children. The association is also preparing to participate in the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh later this month, further strengthening its commitment to raising awareness and advocating for improved eye care.
