Colombo: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has held a ceremony to mark the launch of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' program for distributing dates in Sri Lanka during Ramadan. The initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting Islamic communities globally.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid Al-Qahtani, along with several Sri Lankan officials and heads of various Islamic associations and institutions. The event highlighted the collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka in promoting cultural and religious values.
Five tons of dates will be distributed to 25,000 individuals as part of the Kingdom's ongoing humanitarian efforts to serve Islam and Muslims around the world during the holy month of Ramadan. This distribution is part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering goodwill and providing support to Muslim communities worldwide.
