Saudi Arabia and Mexico Strengthen Cooperation in Accounting and Auditing Fields

Mexico city: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by General Court of Audit (GCA) President Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari, and the United Mexican States, represented by Superior Auditor of the Federation Auditor-General David Rogelio Colmenares-P¡ramo, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the fields of accounting, auditing, and professional work. The signing ceremony took place in Mexico City, with Saudi Ambassador to the United Mexican States Fahd bin Ali Al-Manawer in attendance.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise, build professional capacities, and develop professional manuals in financial auditing, compliance auditing, and performance auditing. This collaboration will be achieved through joint workshops and specialized training programs on mutually interesting topics, aligned with both parties' membership in the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

Dr. Alangari emphasized the GCA's ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand partnerships with similar institutions in friendly countries through numerous MoUs. He remarked that such agreements highlight the GCA's professional standing on both regional and international levels and underscore its role in sharing expertise with member institutions of regional and international organizations of supreme audit institutions.

Colmenares-P¡ramo pointed out the significance of this MoU in strengthening joint work between the Superior Auditor of the Federation of the United Mexican States and the GCA of Saudi Arabia. He noted that this partnership will contribute to improved performance efficiency and audit quality at both institutions.

After the signing ceremony, the two parties held a bilateral meeting to discuss areas of cooperation and explore ways of coordination on related topics, with specialists from both institutions present.
