Riyadh: Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) General-Supervisor Mohammed Al Jabir met in Riyadh with United Nations Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher. The meeting reviewed the latest humanitarian and development updates in Yemen and highlighted the Kingdom's continued economic and development support, most recently the SAR1.3 billion package announced in September 2025. The support aims to enhance Yemen's economic, financial, and monetary stability and includes assistance for the government budget, fuel derivatives, and the health sector under a governance framework that bolsters the Yemeni government's reform efforts. According to Saudi Press Agency, discussions also covered SDRPY's ongoing projects and initiatives, which exceed 265 across eight key sectors: education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, and development programs, in addition to supporting and enhanci ng the capabilities of the Yemeni government across various governorates. Al Jabir underscored the importance of partnership with international and UN organizations, stressing the need for continued cooperation to meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people and advance comprehensive recovery and sustainable development. For his part, Fletcher commended SDRPY projects and initiatives in health, education, and other sectors, describing them as a cornerstone for Yemen's future. He also expressed appreciation for partnership with SDRPY, which contributes to improving the lives of the Yemeni people and fostering stability, prosperity, and sustainable development in Yemen.
