Oman: The joint naval exercise 'Winds of Peace 2026', involving the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) and the Royal Navy of Oman, has successfully concluded in Oman. The exercise saw the active participation of senior military leaders from both countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Exercise Commander Brig. Gen. Mohammed bin Ayed Al-Otaibi confirmed the exercise met its objectives. These included the exchange of expertise in naval operations and maritime security, the ability to respond quickly to threats, and the unification of concepts in preparation, planning, and execution. The exercise also enhanced cooperation and coordination between the two navies for monitoring and protecting maritime shipping lanes.
Brig. Gen. Al-Otaibi highlighted that the exercise included a variety of specialized drills. These drills featured naval scenarios and formations, naval aviation training, counterterrorism operations, visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) procedures, search and rescue missions, electronic warfare, countering fast attack craft, securing maritime routes, and the protection of commercial vessels.
