Riyadh: The Royal Commission for AlUla has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Equestrian Authority to develop the equestrian sector in AlUla and reinforce its position as a leading hub of equestrian excellence. The agreement reflects AlUla's prominent role in hosting major events and activities related to equestrianism.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the memorandum aims to establish AlUla as a model of innovation in the equestrian field within the Kingdom and internationally, as part of AlUla's economic development priorities aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
A particular focus of the agreement is empowering the local community in AlUla by developing training programs and joint workshops that equip AlUla's youth with the skills needed to succeed in this promising sector, from stable management to athlete preparation, supporting the objective of developing human capital as a pillar of sustainable development.
This partnership between AlUla and the Equestrian Authority will also enable access to international expertise in critical areas such as horse health, facility management, and athlete development. It also lays the groundwork for establishing standards and quality certifications for trainers and equestrian facilities to ensure adherence to the best global practices.
