Buenos Aires: The 49th annual Buenos Aires International Book Fair commenced on Thursday, organized by the Book Foundation in Argentina, and is set to continue through May 12. Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the distinguished guest of honor at the event, highlighting the Kingdom's increasing influence in Latin America.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Riyadh's pavilion is designed to enhance the Saudi cultural footprint in Latin America and to present the Saudi capital as a cultural exemplar that mirrors the transformative initiatives under the Saudi Vision 2030. The pavilion is a showcase of literary and cultural materials, including publications translated into Spanish, aimed at fostering cultural understanding.
The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission spearheads Riyadh's participation as the guest of honor. They are joined by a Saudi cultural and literary delegation that comprises the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, the Heritage Commission, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an, the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, and the King Fahd National Library.
