Riyadh: The Riyadh 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games local organizing committee held a press conference yesterday to mark the 100-day countdown to the sixth edition of the games, the largest sporting event for Islamic countries, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from November 7 to 21 with over 3,000 athletes from 57 countries participating.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the events will be held at four locations in Riyadh: the Boulevard, Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex, Al-Janadriyah Field, and Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City.
Riyadh 2025 will feature a wide range of sports comprising athletics, para athletics, 3x3 basketball, boxing, camel racing, duathlon, equestrian, esports, fencing, futsal, handball, judo, ju-jitsu, karate, muay thai, para powerlifting, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, and wushu.
This sixth edition is expected to be the largest and most influential in the games' history. Saudi Arabia previously hosted the first edition in 2005 in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif.
