Riyadh: Tatweer Transportation Services Company (RAFED), the strategic partner of the Ministry of Education in providing school transport, carried out over 7 million school trips during the 1446 AH academic year. The operations were conducted through an integrated system focused on operational efficiency, enhanced safety standards, and improved service quality, while also upgrading user experience through multiple communication channels to ensure a safe and reliable educational journey.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the fleet covered more than 91 million kilometers using over 20,000 buses and vehicles, providing transportation services to more than 736,000 students enrolled in over 15,000 schools across various regions of the Kingdom. This included students in general education and students with disabilities.
As part of its efforts to enhance safety and security, RAFED intensified its field inspections to ensure full compliance with all safety standards. More than 66,000 inspections were conducted, in addition to over 76,000 on-site monitoring tours. RAFED also trained more than 19,000 drivers on safety protocols, defensive driving, emergency procedures, and evacuation plans. Over 700,000 students benefited from awareness programs on safe transportation, implemented across more than 14,000 schools using the company's approved safety curriculum.
RAFED, a company fully owned by Tatweer Education Holding Company, also urged parents to register their children for the school transport service for the upcoming 1447 AH academic year through the Noor System. Applications will be reviewed based on eligibility and prioritization criteria due to the limited number of available seats. Registration remains open until Thursday, July 10, 2025, corresponding to Muharram 15, 1447 AH.
