Prophet’s Mosque Lighting System Highlights Architectural Beauty, Spiritual Serenity

Madinah: The lighting system at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah consists of 138,650 units designed to enhance its architectural splendor and foster a tranquil atmosphere for worshippers. This network features 297 chandeliers and 8,219 column-mounted units, ensuring visual clarity throughout the corridors.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the system also includes 10,546 units engraved with the name of Allah, among 30 different lighting types arranged according to precise specifications. The system maintains a uniform 4,000 Kelvin color temperature, providing a neutral glow between white and warm sunlight.

The shift to energy-efficient LED technology enhances durability and sustainability while reducing glare and carbon emissions. Specific light properties are also designed to deter locusts. Under the supervision of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, these technologies reflect a commitment to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all visitors.
