Riyadh: The General Presidency of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice saw strong engagement during its participation in the Hajj season 1446 AH. Pilgrims widely benefited from the commission's digital platforms, which attracted significant attention, with over 1.8 million users interacting with its media channels. Additionally, visits to the Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation page on its official portal surpassed 350,000, while more than 175,000 users accessed its smart device applications.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the commission utilized AI and augmented reality technologies to deliver multilingual awareness content through 12 innovative digital services. Among these was the Digital Awareness Guide, which allows pilgrims to access services independently without direct human interaction. Additionally, interactive screens and smart panels further enhanced the pilgrim experience by facilitating a smoother and more informed performance of the Hajj rituals.
In the field, more than 700 preachers from the commission's staff provided direct awareness services to pilgrims, welcoming them in their native languages with the support of a team of translators. Additionally, multilingual awareness ID cards with QR codes were distributed, allowing pilgrims to easily access further guidance and services digitally.
