Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute Hosts Symposium to Celebrate Women in Diplomacy

Riyadh: The Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies today hosted a symposium in honor of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy. Attendees included Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji and several female diplomatic leaders and ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Elkhereiji, in his opening remarks, emphasized the significance of empowering women within the diplomatic corps. He highlighted advances made in this area under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. These efforts align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Elkhereiji noted that women have become influential figures on the international stage, holding roles as ambassadors, leaders, negotiators, and representatives of the Kingdom in numerous international forums.

The symposium covered various critical topics, including initiatives supporting women's diplomatic careers, the role of men in facilitating change, and the unique contributions women make to diplomacy. Discussions also addressed the global progress of women in diplomacy and the impact of incorporating female perspectives into foreign policy formulation and its influence on domestic policies. The event further examined ways to enhance women's participation in multilateral forums and tackle current and future challenges.
