Makkah: Kidana Development Company, a subsidiary of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, has embarked on a significant environmental initiative by planting 40,000 trees. This effort is part of the company's ongoing commitment to enhance environmental sustainability and improve the experience of pilgrims visiting the holy sites.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this project is a continuation of a previous phase where over 20,000 trees were planted. With this latest addition, the total number of trees planted has surpassed 60,000. This substantial increase in green spaces has resulted in a threefold rise compared to the previous year's Hajj season, contributing to a more comfortable and serene environment for pilgrims performing their rituals.
The initiative is a testament to the company's dedication to sustainable and innovative solutions that promote environmental balance. It aligns with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, underscoring the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainability in the region.
