Makkah: The Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah witnessed a remarkable surge in volunteer activity during 2025, significantly enhancing the quality of services for pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a total of 39,996 volunteer tasks were completed by 18,907 volunteers, including 10,380 women and 8,593 men.
The extensive volunteer work covered training and development, health and medical services, awareness and guidance, especially assisting lost pilgrims, and support for people with disabilities and the elderly.
The two holy mosques' volunteer platform facilitated the governance and organization of this field work through digital permits and real-time task management, thereby improving the efficiency of volunteer deployment and service quality.
