Istanbul: The Saudi pavilion at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) kicked off today in Istanbul. Organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), the pavilion features over 10 national public and private entities. IDEF is a global platform for showcasing advanced defense products and industrial capabilities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, GAMI Governor Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali inaugurated the pavilion, joined by international officials and experts. The pavilion displayed the latest defense systems and technologies, underscoring the significant development in Saudi military industries and the Kingdom's drive to explore cooperation with major global companies.
Eng. Al-Ohali emphasized that Saudi Arabia's participation aims to solidify its position as a leading regional hub in military industries and activate international partnerships. It also contributes to achieving Saudi Vision 2030 targets, including localizing over 50% of government military spending on equipment and services by 2030, as well as attracting quality investments.
The Saudi pavilion serves as a crucial platform to present the substantial progress made by national companies, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing international cooperation for regional and global security and stability. GAMI is also showcasing its role and national priorities, with numerous bilateral meetings planned to exchange expertise and transfer knowledge. This participation highlights the Kingdom's growing role in the military sector and its dedication to supporting national companies.
