Oman Celebrates National Day with Continued Development

General

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will celebrate its National Day tomorrow, continuing under the leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the path of development and nation-building established by the founder of modern Omani renaissance, the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said. This progress is guided by an ambitious national vision grounded in sustainable development and the integration of human and economic advancement.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-government and people-joins its brothers in Oman in celebrating this occasion, reflecting the deep fraternal ties between the two countries. These ties are rooted in shared history, religious, cultural, and geographic bonds that have boosted mutual understanding and closeness over the decades.

Relations between Saudi Arabia and Oman represent a distinguished model of political alignment and developmental cooperation. They have witnessed major milestones reinforced by mutual visits and official communications, culminating in the prosperous era under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Among the key domestic milestones in Oman is the adoption of November 20 as the National Day, rather than November 18. The change was announced by Sultan Haitham in his January 11, 2025, speech. The date of November 20 marks the beginning of the Al Busaid dynasty’s rule in 1744 under Imam Ahmad bin Said, who unified Oman and established stability and sovereignty. This marked the beginning of a history spanning more than 270 years, during which a succession of imams and sultans ruled, leading to the era of Sultan Qaboos, who spearheaded the modern renaissance, and then the era of Sultan Haitham, who continues the path of development and nation-building through a comprehensive future-focused vision.
