Muscat: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed that the opening of a branch of the Gulf Accreditation Office in Oman contributes to enhancing the infrastructure of quality in the council's member states, including supporting international recognition of Gulf competencies. This announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the Gulf Accreditation Office branch held yesterday in Muscat, Oman. The event was attended by Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, along with several officials from Oman.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi stated that the Gulf Accreditation Office in Oman aims to facilitate cooperation and coordination among the council's member states. The new branch will focus on developing systems for applying standards, evaluation, and product control across member states, ultimately supporting and advancing the Gulf industry and economy.
