NWC Launches Nine Water and Sanitation Projects in Najran Worth over SAR551 Million

Najran: The National Water Company (NWC) has initiated nine water and sanitation projects in Najran Region, part of the Southern Cluster. These projects involve constructing over 366 kilometers of water and sanitation lines and networks at a cost exceeding SAR551 million.

According to Saudi Press Agency, NWC is implementing seven water projects across various districts in Najran city and governorates, including Thar, Bir Askar, Qatan, Al-Mashaaliya, and Al-Hussayniya. These will feature over 357 kilometers of transmission lines and networks, along with pumping stations boasting a combined design capacity exceeding 53,000 cubic meters per day.

Two sanitation projects are underway in Najran city to connect existing networks in districts such as Al-Ma'amar, Rajla, Al-Hussayn, Al-Qabel, Al-Jarbah, Al-Hudn, Al-Safa, Zor Al Harith, Zor Al Ameri, and most northern districts. These connections will link to an existing transmission line over 9 kilometers long. NWC will also rehabilitate the Najran city sewage treatment plant, which has a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day.

NWC emphasized that these initiatives aim to enhance the water distribution system, eliminate environmental damage, achieve water security and environmental balance, increase service coverage, and ensure sustainable drinking water supplies.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to implementing strategic plans that boost operational efficiency in both water and sanitation sectors to the highest quality and performance standards, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
