NWC Implements Projects in Tabuk At SAR300 Million to Expand Coverage and Raise Operational Efficiency

Riyadh: The National Water Company's (NWC) Northwest Cluster announced in a press release today that it started implementing nine water and sanitation projects in Tabuk region, at a cost of SAR300 million, to increase the percentage of service coverage, raise operational efficiency, and upgrade customer service.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the company underlined that three projects are for water services to provide drinking water to beneficiaries in various Tabuk districts, including the districts of Rayes, Al-Nazeem and Tabuk South. This is done through the construction and completion of water networks, main lines and water site works, with a total length of more than 60 kilometers, at a cost exceeding SAR62.2 million.

NWC added that it has started the implementation of two sanitation projects in Tabuk at a cost of SAR65 million. The first project comprises the expansion of the main lift station in Tabuk by increasing the efficiency of the existing station's capacity through the installation of four pumps with a capacity of 90,000 cubic meters per day instead of the previous capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day. The other project consists of implementing main lines and sewerage networks with lengths of 46.7 kilometers to increase the coverage rate of sewage services in Shafa and Yarmouk districts.

According to NWC, it has also initiated the implementation of two water projects: one in Haql Governorate, which includes the implementation of the transmission line with a total length of 21.9 kilometers, the construction of an operational reservoir with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters, and a pumping station with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters per day, at a total cost of SAR51.4 million; and the second in Qulaybah Center, which establishes a drinking water purification plant with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per day at a cost of SAR39.4 million.

The environmental projects in the governorates of Tabuk region also included the implementation of two projects to eliminate environmental damage at a cost of SAR78.1 million. The first project is the implementation of main and feeder sewage lines and networks of different diameters in the districts of Al-Rahmaniya and Al-Shafa in Tayma Governorate with a length of 43.3 kilometers. The other project includes the implementation of sewage networks and main lines with a length of 32.5 kilometers to serve the districts of Al-Rayyan, Al-Sabkha, Al-Yarmouk, West of Al-Dhahra in Haql Governorate, in addition to the construction of a lift station with a capacity of 9,600 cubic meters per day.

NWC stated that these projects come in line with its plans to strengthen infrastructure, expand the coverage of water and environmental services, and upgrade their reliability and operational efficiency.
