Riyadh: The National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Central Cluster, has announced the completion of a significant project aimed at supplying desalinated water to three governorates in the Riyadh region, namely Dhruma, Al Muzahimiyah, and Al-Quwaiyah, as well as the Al Qiddiya project west of Riyadh. This initiative is part of the company’s broader efforts, supported by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, to implement strategic plans for establishing infrastructure in both the water and environmental services sectors. The project was completed at a cost of approximately SAR400 million.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the water supply project involved the implementation of transmission lines of varying diameters, extending a total length of 172 km. Additionally, the project saw the construction of six operational reservoirs, contributing to a total project capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day. This development is set to enhance the quality of water services provided to over 270,000 beneficiaries in the region.
NWC explained that the primary objectives of the project include strengthening infrastructure, increasing operational efficiency, improving service quality for customers, meeting the growing demand for water, and achieving water security. This aligns with the comprehensive urban development currently underway in the Kingdom.
NWC emphasized its commitment to rapidly executing initiatives related to vital infrastructure projects, ensuring their completion on time. The company is focused on providing sustainable water services of high quality, adhering to the highest standards, and keeping pace with performance indicators.
