New york: The Riyadh Art program, under the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, has unveiled the locations and curators for the upcoming Noor Riyadh 2025 festival. The announcement was made at The Armory Show in New York City, an event attended by notable artists, curators, and media representatives, marking an important step in Riyadh's cultural development.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the artistic curators for the 2025 edition of Noor Riyadh have been named as Mami Kataoka, the Director of the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo; Li Zhenhua, curator and founder of the Beijing Art Lab; and Saudi curator Sara Almutlaq, who has gained recognition for her contributions to international art events. The festival is scheduled to take place from November 20 to December 6, 2025, with the theme "In the Blink of an Eye."
The festival's artworks will be displayed across six key locations in Riyadh: Al-Hukm Palace district, King Abdulaziz Historical Center, stc Metro Station, King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Station, Public Investment Fund Tower, and JAX District. This initiative seeks to bridge Riyadh's historical and contemporary sites, particularly through the Riyadh Metro project, turning the city into a dynamic canvas illuminated by art installations.
