NCVC Restores Perennial Dobera glabra Tree in Jazan Following Heavy Rains

Jazan: The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has rehabilitated a perennial Dobera glabra (Forssk.) Juss. ex Poir. tree in Samtah Province, Jazan Region, after it toppled due to heavy rainfall. A specialized team carried out a delicate operation to safeguard the tree’s environmental and heritage value by lifting it, re-anchoring it in its original location, and improving the surrounding soil to ensure its continued growth and protection.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this effort is part of NCVC’s commitment to conserving vegetation cover and protecting perennial trees, which represent a natural wealth that reflects the region’s history and serves as a legacy for future generations. Perennial trees are a natural asset of ecological and cultural value, as they help purify the air, stabilize soils, and support biodiversity, while serving as symbols of local history and identity.
