GCC and EU Officials Discuss Preparations for Ministerial Meeting in Kuwait

New york: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with European Union Special Representative for the Gulf region Luigi Di Maio on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming GCC-EU Ministerial Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Kuwait in October.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions included a review of relations between the GCC and the EU. Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation to achieve common goals and serve the interests and aspirations of their peoples. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the exchange of views on various regional and global developments.

Albudaiwi expressed concerns over the situation in the region, particularly highlighting the aggression by Israeli occupation forces against the State of Qatar. He stressed that such actions have further destabilized security and stability in the area. Albudaiwi also called for a ceasefire, an end to the crisis in the Gaza Strip, and the protection of innocent lives.
