NCM Forecasts Below-Average Rainfall, Slightly Warmer Ramadan in Makkah and Madinah

Qatif: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued its initial climate forecast for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH in Makkah and Madinah regions, outlining expected rainfall patterns and temperature trends.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the NCM indicated that rainfall is expected to be below average in both holy cities, with historical averages of approximately 4.2 mm for Makkah and 4.3 mm for Madinah. The center noted that any precipitation during the month is likely to be light.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly above average, with Makkah seeing an increase of up to 1°C and Madinah up to 1.2°C, while average temperatures during Ramadan typically reach 26.8°C in Makkah and 23.1°C in Madinah.

The NCM emphasized that these forecasts are part of its efforts to provide seasonal climate data to support relevant authorities and enhance preparedness for pilgrims. It urged the public to follow its official channels for periodic reports and updates.
