Riyadh: The National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) conducted 14,374 inspection tours across the Kingdom during the third quarter of 2025, bringing the year-to-date total to over 44,000.
According to Saudi Press Agency, NCEC's General Manager of Inspection and Compliance Abdullah AlEyouni highlighted that the tours were distributed based on activity type and environmental impact. Industry and mining accounted for 32% of the inspections, followed by energy at 15%, with the remainder across vehicle services, contracting, trade, healthcare, and other sectors.
AlEyouni noted that the oversight process considers activity type and environmental impact. First-category establishments accounted for 55% of the tours, second-category for 38%, and third-category for 7%, reflecting comprehensive oversight across all environmental activity levels.
The Makkah Region led with 3,415 tours, followed by the Eastern Region with 2,835 and Riyadh with 2,360. AlEyouni emphasized that environmental reports improve inspection efficiency by enabling inspectors to focus on priorities and identify key sites before field visits. The center is raising awareness and encouraging compliance to facilitate obtaining environmental compliance certificates, supporting Saudi Vision 2030 environmental protection goals.
