General

Almadinah: The National Center for Archives and Records (NCAR) is participating in this year's Almadinah Book Fair with an informative pavilion highlighting its key responsibilities and role in implementing the Kingdom's records and archives system.

According to Saudi Press Agency, NCAR's exhibit showcases its core functions, including the development of executive regulations for the archives system and the collection of regulations, agreements, and treaties, as well as the preparation of a comprehensive coding guide for government entities.

Visitors to the fair can also view original and digitized copies of historical documents addressing topics such as the Kingdom's flag system and its efforts in serving the two holy mosques. These materials have attracted considerable interest from attendees.

The pavilion features a detailed presentation of the center's efforts in collecting, cataloging, classifying, preserving, and coding documents according to the highest technical standards. It also outlines the center's role in overseeing document preservation at government institutions, protecting official records, and fostering coordination and knowledge exchange with relevant entities within and beyond the Kingdom.

Through this participation, NCAR aims to raise public awareness about the importance of national documentation and its role in preserving documentary heritage, including engagement with regional and global archival organizations. This reinforces Saudi Arabia's standing in global records preservation.
