Najran Region Ready to Welcome Visitors for 2026 Summer Festival

Riyadh: Najran Region is set to become a premier tourist destination during this year's summer vacation, supported by its rich natural, cultural, and heritage attractions. The 2026 Summer Festival, scheduled to commence next week, will further enhance its appeal. Organized by Najran Municipality, the month-long festival aims to attract tourists with its extensive array of events and activities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Najran Municipality has meticulously prepared several parks and public spaces, including King Fahd National Park, Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz Park in Aba Rashash, and Prince Turki bin Hathloul Park. Visitors can also enjoy Al-Safa Park and more than 110 other parks, as well as 36 walking trails and five public squares. Comprehensive preparations have been undertaken, such as health inspections, cleaning campaigns, and the beautification of these areas through tree and flower planting, landscaping, and maintenance of facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for families and tourists.

The municipality has finalized arrangements for the festival, which will feature over 120 cultural and entertainment events at 11 different venues. Key locations include King Fahd National Park, Prince Jalawi Park, Prince Turki Park, the Events and Conferences Center, the Ministry of Education Stadium, Mount Raoum, and Al-Safa Park. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to boost tourism and economic activity while promoting Najran as a distinguished summer destination.

Najran's rich heritage, spanning thousands of years, is showcased through more than 186 archaeological sites registered with the Heritage Commission. Notable sites include the Al-Ukhdood Archaeological Site and Hima Cultural Area, the latter recognized on the World Heritage List for its extensive rock inscriptions and petroglyphs. The region also hosts open-air traditional markets highlighting local artisans and vibrant folk arts, including traditional dances and cultural practices. These elements, presented at heritage events, villages, and markets, offer traditional performances and cuisine that draw visitors from across the Kingdom and beyond.
