Ministry of Tourism Closes 25 Violating Hospitality Facilities in Makkah

General

Makkah: The Ministry of Tourism continues its intensive oversight efforts on hospitality facilities in Makkah. Inspection tours conducted in July 2025 resulted in the closure of 25 facilities that were found to violate regulations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these inspection visits aim to verify the compliance of hospitality facilities with approved regulatory requirements and ensure they have obtained the necessary licenses from the ministry to operate. This is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to visitors and Umrah performers in Makkah.

The most prominent observations that necessitated the closure of these facilities included operating without a license from the Ministry of Tourism, poor maintenance and cleanliness, and violations related to visitor safety.

The ministry emphasized the importance of all hospitality facilities adhering to the Tourism Law and its implementing regulations, and obtaining regulatory licenses before operation. It noted that these controls contribute to improving the quality of services and enhancing the safety and satisfaction of visitors and Umrah performers.

Through the 'Our Guests Come First' campaign, the ministry invited everyone to submit their comments and suggestions related to tourism services via the Unified Tourism Center, available at 930, which operates around the clock.
