Ministry of Municipalities Wins IEEE Smart Cities Award for Digital Transformation

Patras: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has achieved a new international milestone in its digital transformation journey by winning the IEEE Smart Cities Award in the 'Emerging Economy' category for its innovative product Balady Lens. The product presents a pioneering model in employing generative artificial intelligence technologies to support municipal inspection operations, address visual distortions, and enhance the quality of urban services.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the award, presented by the IEEE Smart Cities Initiative under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)-the world's largest technical organization-is among the most prestigious global recognitions in the field of smart cities and urban digital transformation.

The award was presented during the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference, held in Patras, Greece, in a formal ceremony attended by representatives of leading smart cities from around the world.
