Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it captured four Asians and three Arabs for stealing power cables.
The ministry’s General Department of Security Relations and Media said in a statement that this arrest was part of an intensive security campaign of the criminal security sector to intensify operations against people stealing power cables in various parts of the country, and to follow up on previous cases of power cables’ theft.
The officers of the Farwaniya Investigation Department took legal permission from prosecution after receiving information about stolen power cables to arrest four people of an Asian nationality.
In their raid, security personnel seized over one ton of power and copper cables along with the equipment to cut the wires into small pieces.
The second case was in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate when the Investigation Department arrested three persons of Arab nationality, who were stealing from a closed shop in Sabah Al-Salem Area. Security personnel found power cables in their possession.
All arrestees were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary action against them.
