Riyadh: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on Tuesday honored members of the Saudi national team who competed at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Columbus, Ohio, held May 10-16. The team earned global recognition after competing against more than 1,700 students from 70 countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Vice Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eng. Mansour Al Mushaiti, King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) Acting Secretary-General Dr. Khalid Al-Sharif, and several ministry officials attended the ceremony, which took place at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. The ministry recognized 40 gifted Saudi students for their scientific achievements after they won 23 awards-14 grand awards and nine special prizes-placing Saudi Arabia second overall after the United States.
The fields of environment, water, and agriculture accounted for six awards, including four grand prizes. During the event, students presented their award-winning projects and explained how their innovations contribute to sustainable scientific solutions for environmental, water, and agricultural challenges.
The Regeneron ISEF is one of the world's largest pre-university science and innovation fairs. Saudi Arabia has participated in the fair since 2007, earning numerous grand and special awards over the years.
