Minister of Media Visits Al Arabiya Headquarters in Riyadh, Reviews Post-Relocation Readiness

Riyadh: Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary visited the new headquarters of Al Arabiya in Riyadh today, following the complete relocation of its television channels, digital platforms, and all editorial, administrative, and operational functions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, Al-Dossary met with the network's editorial and technical leadership to review work progress, organizational structure, and media operations plans. He also monitored content production mechanisms across various departments. He was received by the Director General of Al Arabiya and Al Hadath channels Mamdouh AlMuhaini, Deputy Director General Zaid bin Kami, and several network officials. The Minister toured the Al Hadath and Al Arabiya studios, as well as the News Resources Department, where he was briefed on the advanced technologies in use, including robotic cameras, virtual and augmented reality features, and three cutting-edge control rooms.

These technologies, deployed across three high-tech studios, enhance the network's ability to cover local and international events with speed and quality. The systems are operated by a team of 230 professionals. The Minister also received a briefing on the network's future expansion plans, including the construction of five new studios equipped with next-generation technologies being introduced. These additions aim to advance the quality, style, and format of programming and news content.

Further development includes five new control rooms and two newsrooms, designed to meet modern media production requirements and increase the channel's operational capacity and professionalism in event coverage. Minister Al-Dossary emphasized that Al Arabiya, since its launch over 22 years ago, has played a key role in raising Arab awareness through a rational and professional approach, eschewing populism and sensationalism.

He noted that Al Arabiya's relocation to Riyadh is not merely a geographical move, but a strategic leap that positions the network at the center of regional and global political and economic developments, while leveraging Saudi Arabia's advanced media infrastructure. Al-Dossary expressed gratitude to the Al Arabiya staff for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the success of the move, praising their commitment and professionalism that have earned the network credibility and a leading position in the media industry, especially amid a rapidly changing regional landscape.

For his part, Director General AlMuhaini described the relocation to Riyadh as a strategic transformation aligned with the Kingdom's ambition to strengthen its media presence both regionally and globally. He added that the move enables direct engagement with decision-making hubs, access to top talent, and expanded opportunities for innovation and growth. Since its 2003 launch under the slogan "To Know More," Al Arabiya has built a strong global presence through numerous bureaus and correspondents in key Arab and international capitals, remaining committed to its mission of intellectual enlightenment and delivering concise, professional, and trustworthy news.
