Riyadh, The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority (SEDA), Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef, inaugurated the second edition of the “Made in Saudi” expo.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mayor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan.
The expo runs until October 19, assembling the most renowned national industries, services, and innovation, for visitors, in a way that highlights national industries and highlights their competitiveness.
Iraq is a guest of honor in the current edition of the expo represented by the Iraqi Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, with the participation of 24 Iraqi companies. Iraqi participation is an extension of the strong economic relations between the two countries and comes to enhance trade exchange with the Iraqi side, and to amplify opportunities for growth of national goods and services.
During the opening speech, the industry and mineral resources minister welcomed Iraq’s participation as a guest of honor in this edition, stressing the significance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Industry and mineral resources minister stated that the “Made in Saudi” program is a national one that encompasses all products and services, and that the government, private sectors and individuals have a joint responsibility for it.
He also noted that the Kingdom has a strong industrial foundation capable of facing challenges, which boosts chances of success of “Made in Saudi” program to accumulate gains and create a competitive identity for Saudi industry locally and globally.
Second edition of “Made in Saudi” expo hosts more than 100 Saudi companies and it will witness signing of over 40 agreements that vary between export agreements and industry localization agreements with a value exceeding SAR 1 billion.
