Riyadh: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef emphasized the pivotal role of King Saud University in advancing the radiation sector and its industrial and medical applications. He highlighted the university's foresight in integrating scientific research with industry through initiatives such as Riyadh Technology Valley, which transforms research outcomes into technical and commercial applications, fostering industrial growth and bolstering the national economy. The minister underscored that conferences like IRRMA-12 present valuable opportunities to strengthen collaboration between academic and industrial sectors.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in his remarks at the opening of the 12th International Topical Meeting on Industrial Radiation and Radioisotope Measurement Applications (IRRMA-12), Minister Alkhorayef noted the significance of the Kingdom's hosting of the event, marking its first occurrence in the Middle East. Organized by the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University in cooperation with the Radiation Protection Committee and sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the conference underscores Saudi Arabia's leadership in scientific and industrial fields.
The minister highlighted the alignment of the conference's objectives with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, particularly in enhancing research, innovation, and applied knowledge. He lauded King Saud University for its prominent role as a leading academic institution in the Kingdom and the region, consistently supporting scientific research and technical development.
