Riyadh: The Ministry of Media on Thursday won three awards at the 12th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award. The winners were announced during an official ceremony at Expo Centre Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, attended by leading media professionals and international experts.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the accolades highlight the Ministry of Media's leadership in advancing government communication and confirm its excellence in media and communication performance across the region.
The ministry received the award in the Best Innovation in Government Communication category for its Media Oasis project, which promotes Saudi Arabia's media presence at major local and international events. The project presents the Kingdom's future initiatives through visually engaging and interactive displays designed to connect with audiences worldwide, while also providing a professional environment for media professionals that aligns with the Kingdom's ongoing transformations under Vision 2030.
The Destination documentary, launched under the ministry's Konoz Initiative, won the award for Best Communication and Media Content. The film highlights the development Saudi Arabia has witnessed in recent years across political, economic, medical, sports, cultural, media, and artistic fields, showcasing the Kingdom's rapid progress toward Vision 2030 and its transformation into a global destination.
Director of Public Relations and Partnerships at the Center for Government Communication Omar Alqahtani won the award in the Best Official Spokesperson category. The award recognizes his role in enhancing official media discourse, effectively communicating the center's initiatives and projects, and delivering information to audiences on both local and international platforms.
This triple win reflects the ministry's ongoing commitment to adopting best communication practices and improving government media tools in line with Saudi Arabia's vision and future ambitions. It also underscores the ministry's efforts to strengthen the government communication system and solidify Saudi Arabia's presence in regional and international forums.
The competition received more than 2,600 entries from 37 countries, with the Ministry of Media shortlisted among just 74 finalists, marking a testament to its outstanding performance and growing influence in the regional media landscape.
