Dammam: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and Sultan Logistics have entered into an agreement to develop a logistics park at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, representing an investment of up to SAR200 million, as announced in a press release by Mawani today.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the contract was formalized by Mawani Acting President Mazen Al-Turki and Sultan Logistics Chairman Ali Al-Qahtani. The agreement will see the creation of a 197,000 square meter logistics park, designed to enhance the port's competitiveness, improve operational efficiency, and upgrade the quality of logistics services.

The release states that this project is part of Mawani's strategic initiatives under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aiming to establish logistics parks both within and outside Saudi Arabia's ports. The broader goal is to strengthen the Kingdom's position as a leading global logistics hub, provide advanced logistics services, and support the economic and social objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The logistics park will include 35,000 square meters of warehousing, administrative offices, and a dedicated yard for storing and maintaining both dry and refrigerated containers. It will also feature a re-export zone, enhancing logistics capabilities and supporting commercial activities with high operational standards.

The new logistics park is anticipated to significantly bolster King Abdulaziz Port's competitive edge and contribute to the Kingdom's economic diversification efforts by offering specialized logistics services and fostering greater private sector involvement, as noted in the release.
