Madinah Enhances Historical Sites to Enrich Visitor Experience

General

Madinah: Visiting Madinah during Ramadan offers a unique spiritual journey, allowing visitors to explore 1,382 historical landmarks connected to the Prophet's life.

According to Saudi Press Agency, to support a 12% annual growth in visitors and a 29% increase in tourism demand recorded in 2025, the Madinah Region Development Authority is actively rehabilitating key sites, including the Quba, Qiblatain, and Fash mosques, as well as the Ghars and Faqir wells.

A centerpiece of these efforts is a project creating three dedicated cultural spaces in the central area, featuring enhanced infrastructure, landscaping, and interactive guiding maps to help visitors visualize Islamic history.

These initiatives, coupled with a 22% rise in regional tourism spending, aim to enrich the visitor experience by integrating historical heritage with modern services, ensuring seamless access to the landmarks of the Prophet's biography.
