Madinah Airport Welcomes Moroccan Pilgrims via Makkah Route Initiative

General

Madinah: A flight carrying beneficiaries of the Makkah Route Initiative from Morocco's Mohammed V International Airport arrived today at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. The initiative, now in its eighth year, is spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior and aims to streamline the Hajj journey for pilgrims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Makkah Route Initiative completes all entry procedures, including biometric data, electronic visas, and passport control, at the departure airport itself. Upon arrival, the beneficiaries are transported directly to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah through designated lanes, ensuring a smooth transition. Partner agencies are tasked with managing the delivery of luggage, which is sorted and verified for health requirements in the pilgrims' home countries.

Since its inception in 2017, the initiative has served 1,254,994 pilgrims, reflecting its effectiveness in providing a seamless and efficient experience for Hajj pilgrims.
