Riyadh: Lieutenant General Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Makkah Road Initiative, affirmed that the launch of this initiative in the Republic of Maldives is a significant achievement in the ongoing cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. This initiative highlights the deep fraternal ties and represents a history of close and constructive collaboration between the two nations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Lieutenant General Al-Yahya emphasized that the Makkah Road Initiative is a genuine manifestation of Saudi Vision 2030. This vision, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aims to serve Islam and Muslims. It reflects their unwavering commitment to ease the journey of pilgrims, ensuring a smooth transition from their home countries to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj rituals and their return.
He further explained that the initiative's launch in the Maldives will enable beneficiaries to complete a series of automated travel procedures electronically. This will save time and effort in the departure lounge, facilitating a seamless continuation of their journey to Saudi Arabia.
