Kuwait Parliament approves multiple recommendations

The National Assembly approved on Wednesday multiple recommendations regarding fair salaries, wages and employees’ equality in government sectors.

This came during the Parliament’s special session, in which the MPs approved laws regarding the budgets of ministries, government departments and independent agencies for the fiscal year (2023-2024).

The Parliament recommendations included one asking the Cabinet to assign chief positions in all governmental sectors within three months from the date of approving the budget for the fiscal year (2023-2024).

The Parliament also recommended that the government implement the framework of the national administrative governance issued by the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, which was submitted to the Cabinet in June 2019, within a period of no longer than six months from the date of approving the general budget for the fiscal year (2023-2024).

The Parliament also requested that the government complete the strategic alternative within six months from the date of approving the budget, including the re-description of all public, technical and professional jobs in government sectors, work nature, requirements and conditions of employment and its task, as well as job performance evaluations, its salary and wages and promotions, job training and the basic salary, living cost allowance in light of local and global inflations indicators.
