Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) Masam Project successfully cleared 2,108 explosive hazards across Yemen during the fourth week of January.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the cleared explosives comprised 31 anti-personnel mines, 75 anti-tank mines, 2,000 items of unexploded ordnance, and two improvised explosive devices. This significant achievement highlights the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of civilians in conflict-affected regions.
As a result of these efforts, the total number of explosive hazards cleared in January increased to 2,862. Since the inception of the Masam Project, a cumulative total of 534,813 explosive hazards have been removed, showcasing a robust commitment to humanitarian demining.
Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm KSrelief, continues to prioritize explosive-clearance activities in Yemen, aiming to protect civilians and contribute to safer, more dignified living conditions for the Yemeni population.
