Jeddah: The Emergency Response Project for Combating Cholera in Yemen, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), provided medical services to 5,909 beneficiaries from March 25 to 31, 2026. The project targets severely affected areas to reduce infection rates and limit the spread of cholera. Measures include deploying medical teams at entry points, supplying health facilities with essential treatment supplies, and expanding the capacity of cholera treatment centers. These efforts are part of the Kingdom's humanitarian initiatives to support the Yemeni health sector and safeguard public health.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project has been instrumental in addressing the cholera outbreak in Yemen. The deployment of medical teams and the provision of necessary supplies aim to enhance the response capability of healthcare facilities in the region. The expansion of cholera treatment centers is a crucial step in managing the cases effectively and preventing further transmission of the disease.

The initiative represents a significant contribution to the broader efforts to stabilize the health sector in Yemen, which has been struggling due to ongoing conflicts. By focusing on high-risk areas, the project aims to mitigate the impact of choleral outbreaks and improve the overall health outcomes for affected communities.
