Aden: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project removed 1,493 explosives across various regions of Yemen during the fourth week of June. The cleared explosives included 1,448 unexploded ordnance (UXOs), 27 anti-tank mines, 14 anti-personnel mines, and four improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
According to Saudi Press Agency, in Aden Governorate, the Masam team cleared 1,295 UXOs, 13 anti-personnel mines, five anti-tank mines, and two IEDs. In Hays District of Al-Hodeidah, one anti-personnel mine was removed, while in Khab Washaaf District of Al-Jawf, the team removed one anti-tank mine. In Lahij, 12 UXOs were cleared in Tuban District, along with two anti-tank mines in Al-Madharibah District.
In Harib District of Marib, 18 anti-tank mines were removed. In Shabwah Governorate, the team cleared 15 UXOs in Asilan District and three anti-personnel mines in Bayhan District. In Taiz Governorate, the team removed 21 UXOs and two IEDs in Dhubab District, 64 UXOs and one anti-tank mine in Mokha District, and 38 UXOs in Al-Mudhaffar District.
These efforts bring the total number of explosives cleared in June to 5,192, raising the overall total cleared since the start of the Masam Project to 502,736. These explosives were randomly planted throughout Yemeni territory, endangering innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, and sowing fear in once-safe communities.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, continues its mission to rid Yemeni land of explosives as part of its broader effort to protect civilians and enable the Yemeni people to live safely and with dignity.
