General

Ottawa: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a 2025 project to distribute 6,000 cartons of dates in Al-Mahrah Governorate, Yemen, benefiting 42,000 vulnerable and displaced individuals, as part of a larger plan to distribute 625,000 cartons across 12 Yemeni governorates. The effort is a continuation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian and relief work, delivered through KSrelief, to support the Yemeni people during their ongoing humanitarian crisis and to enhance food security.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the distribution of dates in Yemen is a significant part of KSrelief's ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian challenges faced by the Yemeni population. The initiative is designed to address food security issues and provide nutritional support to those affected by the prolonged crisis in the region. The project symbolizes Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting Yemen and its people through sustained humanitarian aid.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by KSrelief to provide essential food supplies to the most affected areas in Yemen. The distribution of 625,000 cartons of dates across 12 governorates aims to reach a large segment of the population in need, ensuring that critical nutritional needs are met. The project is expected to significantly impact the lives of thousands of individuals, particularly those who are displaced and most vulnerable to food scarcity.
