Riyadh: The Emergency Response Project for Combating Cholera in Yemen, backed by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), provided vital medical services to 18,815 individuals between February 11 and 17, 2026.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project has implemented several measures to address the cholera outbreak in Yemen. Specialized medical monitoring teams have been deployed to track and manage the spread of the disease. Health facilities have been stocked with necessary antibiotics and rehydration solutions to treat those affected. Additionally, the project has increased bed capacities at dedicated treatment centers to accommodate the surge in patients.
This initiative is a significant aspect of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to bolster the Yemeni health sector and safeguard the public from infectious diseases. By focusing on both immediate response and long-term health infrastructure improvement, the project aims to mitigate the impact of cholera and enhance overall healthcare resilience in the region.
