Kingdom Supports 2nd International Quran Competition in Kazakhstan with Participation of 21 Countries

Astana: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance inaugurated today the 2nd International Quran Competition in the Kazakh capital, Astana, with the participation of 22 contestants representing 21 countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the opening ceremony was attended by Grand Mufti of Kazakhstan Sheikh Nauryzbai Otpenov, who expressed his delight at his country hosting this international event, praising the Kingdom's role in organizing and supporting Quran competitions that contribute to spreading the Holy Quran and enhancing Islamic brotherhood.

Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Kazakhstan Faisal Al-Qahtani stressed that the Kingdom has given special attention to the Holy Quran through the establishment of specialized institutes and schools, the organization of international competitions, and the founding of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, which has translated the Quran into more than 79 languages, including Kazakh, and distributes copies free of charge to Muslims worldwide.

Member of the Kazakh Senate Darkhan Kydyrali highlighted the competition's importance in promoting religious values and social unity, wishing success to all participants.

The competition will conclude tomorrow with an award ceremony honoring the winners, in the presence of senior officials and religious leaders, reflecting the reverence of the Holy Quran and strengthening the bonds of Islamic brotherhood.
