Riyadh: King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has entered into a strategic partnership with SPHERA, a company known for its gaming and esports services. The collaboration is designed to enhance the infrastructure required to host SPHERA and connect it to the Saudi Arabian Internet Exchange (SAIX), managed by KACST under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This connection aims to improve the gaming experience for users in Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement was signed by SPHERA's Founder and CEO Faisal Al-Aql and KACST's General Manager of the General Directorate of Internet Technologies Eng. Mohammed Al-Ghamdi at the New Global Sport Conference. The partnership aspires to foster innovation and investment within the gaming sector by creating a supportive environment for local startups and developers. This includes leveraging advanced digital infrastructure to enhance user experience and reduce response times.
The agreement is expected to empower local developers to create high-quality games and establish technology platforms that generate investment opportunities and jobs in technology fields. This initiative is aligned with the Kingdom's ambitions to strengthen its digital economy in the gaming and esports sectors.
