Joint Statement Concludes Indonesian President’s Visit to Saudi Arabia

Jeddah: A joint statement was issued at the conclusion of President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Saudi Arabia, highlighting the deep-rooted historical ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia. This visit was conducted at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

According to Saudi Press Agency, President Subianto was received by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah. The leaders reviewed historical relations and discussed enhancing cooperation in various fields, including economic, trade, and investment sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of utilizing opportunities provided by Saudi Vision 2030 and the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 to strengthen their economic ties.

The meeting also included discussions on energy cooperation, where both sides agreed to collaborate on crude oil supplies, petrochemicals, and renewable energy projects. They emphasized the importance of ensuring global energy market stability and security of energy supplies. Additionally, President Subianto expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's role in supporting Indonesian pilgrims and commended the coordination between the two nations in this regard.

The session also addressed cooperation in fields such as health, digital economy, culture, and defense. Both sides welcomed the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding, amounting to $27 billion, in areas including clean energy and aviation fuel services. The meeting underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in international forums and organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues, expressing concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and emphasizing the need for international intervention. They reiterated their support for a two-state solution in Palestine and discussed the importance of political solutions in Yemen, Syria, and Sudan to achieve regional stability.

The visit concluded with President Subianto expressing gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and his delegation, and inviting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for a reciprocal visit to Indonesia. Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening the ties between their countries and fostering regional and global peace and security.
