Joint Forces Command Conducts Airstrike on Unauthorized Military Cargo in Mukalla Port

General

Mukalla: The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced a limited airstrike targeting foreign military support that had been offloaded at the Port of Mukalla. Major General Turki Al-Malki, the official spokesperson of the coalition, stated that the airstrike was a response to unauthorized activities involving the arrival of two vessels from the Port of Fujairah over the weekend.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the vessels arrived on December 27-28, 2025, without obtaining the necessary permits from the coalition. The crews of these vessels reportedly disabled their tracking devices and unloaded a significant quantity of weapons and combat vehicles intended for the Southern Transitional Council's forces in the Hadramaut and Al Mahrah governorates of Eastern Yemen. These actions were identified as violations of efforts to reach a peaceful resolution and in defiance of UNSCR 2216 (2015).

The president of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) in Yemen requested that coalition forces take necessary military measures to protect civilians in the affected regions. In response, the coalition's air force conducted the targeted airstrike after careful surveillance and documentation of the cargo. The operation aimed at neutralizing the imminent threat posed by the unauthorized military supplies and was executed in accordance with Customary International Humanitarian Law, ensuring no collateral damage.

The Joint Forces Command emphasized its commitment to de-escalation and pacification in the Hadramaut and Al Mahrah governorates. It reiterated its stance against any military support to Yemen that is not coordinated with the legitimate Yemeni government and the coalition, with the goal of maintaining security and stability in the region and preventing further conflict escalation.
