Riyadh: A statement was issued by the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) regarding the allegation that the Coalition Forces targeted the medical clinic in Kamis Marran in Haydan Directorate of Sa'ada Governorate on January 4, 2015.
According to Saudi Press Agency, JIAT addressed observations in a report by Physicians for Human Rights from March 2020, which alleged that Coalition Forces aircraft targeted the medical clinic in Khamis Marran on the specified date, although no coordinates of the claimed location were provided. JIAT conducted a thorough investigation, reviewing documents such as air tasking orders, daily mission schedules, mission execution procedures, after mission reports, satellite images, and coordinates provided by the representative of the legitimate Yemeni government in JIAT.
The investigation revealed that the clinic is located in the southwestern part of Sa'ada Governorate and is listed on the Coalition Forces No Strike List (NSL). Satellite images examined by JIAT specialists showed the location as a single building surrounded by a fence with damage that could not be attributed to a specific cause. An analysis of air missions on January 4, 2015, confirmed that Coalition Forces targeted a military objective 3,500 meters away from the clinic using guided bombs, which successfully hit their intended target.
Further examination of the daily mission schedules for the days surrounding the alleged incident showed no air missions conducted by Coalition Forces in Khamis Marran on March 31, 2015, or April 2, 2015. Based on this assessment, JIAT concluded that the Coalition Forces did not target the medical clinic as claimed.
